Resident Winemaker and Vineyard Manager, Blake Kownacki, strives to produce wines that are an authentic representation of Michigan and the Great Lake region as a whole. Utilizing old world techniques, coupled with years on national and international experience, Blake continues to produce award winning wines that are celebrated here and abroad. Using locally grown grapes, as well as grapes from one of Michigan’s oldest vineyards, the wines produced for Grand River Winery are shining examples of Michigan’s huge potential within the global wine industry. Enjoy some of your favorite well known varietals such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Riesling, and Chardonnay, or for the more adventurous, try some of the wines made from newly developed cold-hardy hybrid varietals such as Frontenac, Vidal Blanc, or Traminette. Either way, you will taste for yourself why Michigan is the new frontier of the winemaking world.
